The Duke Industry Statistics Symposium is an event that brings together statisticians from industry, academia, and regulatory agencies to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the clinical development of drugs, biologics and devices. The theme of DISS2024 is “Statistical Innovation for Next-Generation Pharmaceutical Development”, which will explore the integration of various cutting-edge tools and approaches into clinical trials research, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, electronic health records, pragmatic trials, patient-centered trial designs, master protocols, adaptive trial design methodologies, and the use of historical controls and real-world evidence. The symposium will consist of short courses, keynote speeches, parallel sessions, and poster lightning talk sessions. A special issue of the Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics will be published based on the invited talks and submitted posters.
