Our Policy
As a company PharmaLex works to support pharma, biotech and medical device companies to remain compliant throughout the product lifecycle.
Our ethos is to provide flexible and cost-effective solutions that enable companies to bring products intended to diagnose, treat and improve patient wellbeing to market faster.
It is this commitment coupled with the acknowledgement of the impact our business model has on the world, that defines our corporate social responsibility strategy. It is of vital importance that we not only take responsibility for our actions as a company but invest in our future as a community. It is for that reason that we have chosen to support a number of causes both globally and locally to ensure we are able to make an impact where it is most needed.
How we give back
We recognize the importance of the role we can play in supporting worthy causes across the world.
Having the ability to invest in sustainable environmental and social wellbeing is an important part of our attitude to business as well as helping to reinforce our values. We are focusing our efforts on initiatives that revolve around education, empowerment and inclusivity and sustainability. These complement our existing goals which amongst others focus on environmental-friendly support and equal opportunities for our staff and external contacts.
Who we have supported
Plan International, is an independent development and humanitarian organization which works in 71 countries across the world, particularly in Africa, LATAM, and Asia to advance children’s rights and education.
We contributed to a project supporting children to graduate from secondary schools with tele-teaching in Guatemala. This project provided 29 tele-schools with learning materials, renovate classrooms and organize training for 82 teachers, particularly in rural areas of Jalapa. We chose Plan International as it represents our geographic footprint – no longer being just a German or European organization. It also enabled us to support a tele-teaching project which supports our ambition and approach of Knowledge.Accelerated.
Over the past few years we have made a corporate donation to PLAN International which is a development and humanitarian organization. Given the recent media coverage and reports from The UN Development Program (UNDP) and UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) concerning the rapid progression and impact of environmental change across the globe, we are now supporting an organization which both addresses social issues with consideration for climate change.
This year, PharmaLex is supporting a project to promote sports activities for girls and boys at 20 secondary schools in the Ba Vi and Ha Dong districts in the Hanoi, Vietnam metropolitan area.
Through this project, we aim to empower girls and boys through sports by training teachers and actively involving children in the programs. Further, together with students, parents and teachers, we take stock of the sports facilities at the schools. Together with local education authorities and under guidance of trained teachers, we are developing minimum standards for safe, child-friendly sports facilities and help students and parents learn the importance of sports for development.
We are planting trees in conjunction with Treedom.
Treedom is a platform that allows us to plant trees and follow them online – not only does it benefit the environment but it also delivers on our social media.
Treedom stands out for financing small agroforestry projects and bringing both environmental and social benefits. They first finance the planting of the trees, nourishing and caring, when they are not yet producing fruits. Then once the trees are productive, their fruits belong to the local community, allowing them to diversify and supplement both their diet and income, further by giving them quality education and training.
To engage our employees as well as clients, each tree is given its own QR code which allows us to connect to a webcam to watch our digital forest grow and flourish. This collaboration forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and reinforces our commitment to sustainability.
