Explorare 3.0

ISPOR-Italy Rome Chapter and PharmaLex, have launched the third edition of ExploRare. The project was established in 2022 with the aim of critically and proactively reviewing the process leading to the reimbursement of orphan and rare disease drugs, in order to contribute to linear access and a better definition of value.

The upcoming third edition addresses the following topics:

  • the evaluation of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) through the analysis over time of the use, type and quality of PROMS in clinical studies, and their use in evaluations;
  • the analysis of negotiation times in the case of extension of indication from rare to rare, rare to non-rare and from non-rare to rare, as well as the effect of the application of the blended price;
  • updating the predictive model of expenditure on drugs for the treatment of rare diseases in the three-year period 2025-2027.
